Big-spending Tarnow certainly got some of their money’s worth as they got their Ekstraliga season off to a dream start with a 61-29 demolition of Wroclaw.

New signings Greg Hancock and Janusz Kolodziej led the way impressively with 13 and 14+1 respectively, whilst talented Slovakian Marting Vaculik (11+2) and Leon Madsen (10+1) also put in good double-figure scores.

At reserve, Kings Lynn man and World Under 21 Champion Maciej Janowski scored a good 6+3 from 4 rides.

For Wroclaw, a number of their new signings disappointed. Wolverhampton trio of Nicolai Klindt (6), Tai Woffinden (5) and Fredrik Lindgren (3) failed to live up to expectation, especially Grand Prix rider Lindgren who failed to beat an opposition rider and will probably be replaced by Kenneth Bjerre for the next Wroclaw meeting.

Not one Wroclaw man made double figures, Birmingham rider Sebastian Ulamek coming closest with 8, and that ultimately proved the issue, along with the fact 11 of the 15 last places went to Wroclaw riders.
